Georgia Mae Hopper, 90, passed away on July 8, 2015. She was preceded in death by parents, George Fred Hopper, Dula Elizabeth Smart and William Dewey Smart. Mr. Hopper died three weeks before she was born. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Maxray Smart; and sister, Diane Kilpatrick.
She is survived by her brothers, Leon (Evon) Smart and Raymond (Darla) Smart; and sisters, Margaret Justice, Margie Broadway, Virginia Box and Shelby Brasher.
Georgia Mae was a long time member of Ruth Ensor Memorial United Methodist Church in Old Hickory, Tenn. She served as Sunday School teacher in the children’s department; choir member; and was active in the WMU. She retired from E. A. Lalleman Company.
A celebration of Georgia’s life was held at Concord Methodist Church in Decaturville, Tennessee on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. and officiated by Terry Broadway.
Burial followed after the family service. Active pallbearers were Keith Kilpatrick, Alan Broadway, Randy Smart, Shannon Smart, David Brasher and Gene Lomax.
Reed’s Chapel in Decaturville was in charge of arrangements.
